Spring 2010

Jennifer Hedgecock, an instructor at Saddleback College since 2003, currently teaches all levels of composition and British Literature. She has also taught at the University of California, Irvine and Chapman University. She received her Ph.D. from Michigan State University, her Master's and Bachelor's from CSU, Sacramento, in nineteenth-century British Literature, and has studied the works of Thomas Hardy at Oxford University, Trinity College. Recently she published The Femme Fatale in Victorian Literature and continues to work on an historical novel set in Wyoming at the turn of the nineteenth century. Having lived abroad, Professor Hedgecock looks forward to introducing her students to the cultural landscape of Oxford and England. |

Students are required to select a program of at least 12 units during the spring semester and a minimum of 6 units while in Oxford. All students must be eligible for English 1A to participate.
Distance Education classes may be an option. See Professor Hedgecock for more information.
All classes taught on Saddleback College in Oxford Program may be taken for Honors credit.

$6,355 Fee Includes:
- Round-trip airfare Los Angeles/London/Los Angeles
- Round-trip airport transfers between the London airport and the accommodations in Oxford

Fee does not include a $250 refundable damage deposit, passport or visa fees (if applicable), optional medical insurance upgrade ($65) and optional personal effects coverage ($90), porterage, meals other than those specified, personal expenses, housing and meals during the 10-day spring break, Saddleback College enrollment fees, textbooks, additional mandatory U.S. government and airline-imposed departure taxes, fees and fuel surcharges on airfare and any items not specified.

Stratford-Upon-Avon and Warwick Castle
A full-day tour of Stratford with entrances to Anne Hathaway's cottage, Shakespeare's Birthplace and Warwick Castle, including one theatre ticket for a performance at the Royal Shakespeare Theatre in Stratford. |

Optional Excursion
For a supplemental fee of $595 per participant, the Scotland trip will be a 4 day, 3 night excursion (departing Thursday, returning Sunday evening). Included in the price is a return train ticket from London to Edinburgh, 3 nights hostel accommodation with breakfast included (1 night in Edinburgh, 1 night in Loch Ness, 1 night on the Isle of Skye), a 3 day guided bus tour to the highlands and islands of Scotland, evening meals and the services of an AIFS staff member throughout the excursion. |
