Our mission is to empower students to become independent and active life-long learners.
Hoyt J. (Jack) H. Wilson
12/01/1914-10/04/1995

Quite frequently I ask myself, “Why am I doing this?” But since I have asked myself that same question many times, the answer comes more quickly now, and that answer is, “I like it.”

I am referring to the fact that I am rather heavily engaged in tutoring at Saddleback College.

I must confess I am not an altruist by nature; my reasons for tutoring are not completely unselfish. I just happen to believe that the greatest advantage mankind has over other species is our ability to reason and to communicate. Without these two important abilities, we would be much less human. If I can help further the process of communication and reasoning, the world, and possibly the universe, will become an even better place.

Note:
Jack volunteered his tutoring skills to the Learning Assistance Program from 1988 through 1995.
Tutoring students, he imparted his knowledge and wisdom in many varied subjects.
