Learning Assistance Program

The Learning Assistance Program provides three distinctive programs for registered Saddleback College Students.

  • The LAP provides free group, individual and drop-in tutoring, various workshops and tutor training.
  • The Computer Center has an open-access computer lab for the preparation of written course material.
  • The Computer Center also provides facilities for instructors of a variety of courses to provide dedicated course software for their students.

Need Tutoring? Tutoring is available by Appointment, Drop-in, and Online, depending on the type of Tutoring.

Appointments are required for one-hour of tutoring per subject per week. The times and courses for which tutors are available are listed at the reception desk in Village 8-05. Students requesting individual and/or group tutoring are encouraged to make their appointments at least one day in advance of the time they wish to be tutored. All appointments must be made in person.

Drop-in Tutoring for mathematics, chemistry or physics does not require an appointment, and is not limited to one hour per week. Times and courses for drop-in tutoring are posted in the LAP on a bulletin board next to the tutors' names and pictures.

Online English Tutoring requires an appointment and is available by calling 949-582-4519 during open hours.

Group Tutoring is available in several areas. This tutoring method is particularly helpful with ESL conversation, foreign language studies, physiology, biology, and history.
