Research indicates that we retain 90% of the information we learn if we do and say as we learn. In keeping with these findings, the LAP actively involves students in course materials as much as possible. Group discussions, sharing ideas and solutions, and probing strategies are methods used to stimulate active learning and for the development of self-confidence.
Various workshops are led by LAP staff members who work closely with the Counseling Office, the Special Services program, the English as a Second Language (ESL) program and other academic divisions to enhance the student's learning experience at Saddleback College.
