In
order to request a "back issue", "hardcopy"
periodical, you must fill out a request slipt such as the one
shown on the left.
A back issue periodical is any issue earlier than the most
current one. At Saddleback, the most current issue is placed on
display shelves, with the exception of several highly requested
titles. Back issues are housed at the periodical counter. |

Hard
copy periodicals are the actual paper documents such as you
would buy at a newsstand. They are printed material as opposed
to information in microform or digital (computerised) format.
The
library subscribes to approximately 270 hard copy titles. On the
other hand, by way of its electronic databases, the library owns
about 2000 full-time periodicals. In some cases, the library will
own a periodical in both hard copy and electronic or digital format. |
In
order to request a back issue, get a request slip at the reference
desk. Look in the library's list of periodical subscriptions,
or check online.
Find the title you want and write its identificaiton number on
the request slip on the left hand side. The ID number is to the
left of the periodical title in the column marked "ID#". |
