Dr. Lori Phelps joined Saddleback College in May, 1997 as an associate faculty in the Human Services Department. Dr. Dick Wilson, who founded the Department, hired Dr. Phelps to be lead faculty for the Eating Disorders Summer Institute. From that time on, Dr. Phelps has taught many of the courses in the Human Services Department and developed the online eating disorders courses that are taken by students from all over the world. She served as interim chair of the department in 2009-2010. She teaches the online Eating Disorders courses.
Dr. Phelps is a full-time lecturer at California State University, Fullerton where she coordinates the Substance Abuse Treatment & Prevention track for the Bachelor's Degree in Human Services. She is also the Executive Director of the California Association for Alcohol/Drug Educators (www.caade.org).
