"It's OK to Talk" Panel Discussion

Saddleback College’s journalism department and the Entertainment Industries Council, Inc. (EIC) are pleased to present “IT’S OK TO TALK,” a panel discussion on mental health and media open to students and community members, on Monday, March 10th from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. in room 145 of the Health Sciences Building. “IT’S OK TO TALK” will be held on the Saddleback College campus on March 10th from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m.

The panel will feature moderator Dr. Lisa Sparks (Director, M.S. Health and Strategic Communication Program, Chapman University), Melissa McCoy (Former Deputy Editor for the Los Angeles Times and TEAM Up Media Consultant), Nedra Weinreich (Social Media Strategist at EIC and lecturer at UCLA), Nathan Sutton (Writer, Director, Actor Autumn Wander, Emerging Filmmaker Award), Wayne Munchel, LCSW (Director of Transition Age Youth, Stars Behavioral Health Group), Jeanne Harris-Caldwell (Student Health Center Director, Saddleback College), and Angie Pineda (Journalism Alumna, Saddleback College). Panelists will address mental health in campus media as well as the power and influence the media have, on and off campuses, in reducing stigma and discrimination around mental illness. The event is free and open to the campus community and public.
