Saddleback College will kick off the Orange County Social Entrepreneurship Competition on Wednesday, February 26th from 11:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. in SSC 212. A free luncheon will be served.
All are invited to attend the kick-off to learn more about the competition, which invites individuals, groups, and non-profit and for-profit entities to submit business plans to pursue solutions to complex social problems in areas including but limited to poverty, homelessness, environment, urban revitalization, health, and education.
Business plan submissions are accepted through April 18, 2014. Competition finalists will present their plans to the public at a presentation showcase on May 10, 2014, and following the competition, will benefit from consultation services in preparation for an investor pitch in September.
Cash prizes will be awarded to the finalists, who will have a rare opportunity to pitch their ideas to social impact investors from across the nation, with funding possibilities upwards of $100,000.
