The Problem with Guns: Transforming Conflict in Ireland and Beyond

A Talk in Honor of Micael Merrifield by Dr. Dominic Bryan, Director of the Institute of Irish Studies, Queen's University, Belfast, Northern Ireland. This talk will examine the short-term and long-term repercussions of violence. With a focus on Northern Ireland, the residual effects of conflict as well as the problems encountered in conflict transformation are explored. Its lessons provide tools for thinking about and understanding conflict itself.
