Saddleback Students Perform a Stage Reading of "Invisible"

On Wednesday, April 30th at 7:30 p.m. in the McKinney Theatre, the Department of Theatre Arts at Saddleback College is thrilled to present a stage reading by Saddleback students of Invisible. This new musical, book by David Hollingsworth and composition and lyrics by David Orris, will be performed by Saddleback students.

Directed by Jonelle Allen, music direction by David Anthony Martin, and dramaturgy by Nicole Lauren, audiences will get a first look at a sort-of retelling of the H.G. Wells classic The Invisible Man told through the lens of an '80s (John-Hughes-esque) teen sex comedy, inspired by such films as The Breakfast Club, Weird Science, Some Kind Of Wonderful, Back To The Future, Zapped and Teen Wolf.

The score is decidedly influenced by (and pays homage to) '80s pop. This west coast premiere is free and open to the public. The writers are attending rehearsals and are heavily involved in the production. A three piece band will be on stage to accompany the actors’ performances.
