Beginning May 1st, the Saddleback College Matriculation will offer walk-in, computerized assessment placement testing Monday through Thursday, from 9:00 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. in Village 8. Testing appointments will also be available during select evening and Saturday hours. Assessment testing is one of the three steps of the matriculation process, which must be completed by most students before registering for classes.
Dr. Tod A. Burnett, president of Saddleback College, stated, “Completion of the matriculation process plays a significant part in a student’s ability to prepare and succeed at Saddleback. I want to thank the matriculation faculty, staff, and administration who are working hard to make testing available at the days and times that are most convenient for our students.”
Penny Skaff, matriculation coordinator and counselor, stated “The new testing system will allow us to serve more students and will cut down on the time it takes them to get through the full matriculation process. Walk-in appointments mean students won’t have to wait weeks for an open appointment time, which means that they will get their results quicker and will be able to move onto the next step in the matriculation process."
Assessment tests are administered for English, reading, and math. Students wishing to complete all three tests should allow themselves at least 2.5 hours to complete the series.
The matriculation process begins when a student applies to Saddleback College and consists of online orientation, assessment testing, and online advisement. For more information about the matriculation process as well as testing dates, visit /matriculation/.
