Important Dates and Deadlines

January/February 2018: 2018-2019 FAFSA and Cal Grant GPA Verification Forms are available on the web.

January 16, 2018: Student Financial Assistance/Scholarship Office begins disbursing spring 18 financial aid funds to awarded students.

February 13, 2018: Saddleback College Scholarship Application Deadline.

February 28, 2018: Saddleback College Financial Aid Office to start sending out missing information letters for the 2018/2019 award year (Fall 2018, Spring 2019, Summer 2019). Students may start to submit documentation for the 2018/2019 award year.

March 2, 2018: Cal Grant deadline for 2018 – 2019 award years. If you are a Saddleback College student and have completed the required units at Saddleback College, Saddleback College will electronically transmit your GPA. If you have multiple transcripts that have to be compiled, the Admissions & Records Office will complete this for you. Please contact the Student Financial Assistance/Scholarship Office for more information regarding the GPA Verification Form.

May 1, 2018: Students who have a complete financial aid file for the 2018-2019 award year to receive initial award letter notifications for the Fall 2018 semester.

May 3, 2018: Last day to submit a Loan Request Form to the Student Financial Assistance/Scholarship Office in order to receive loan funds for the 2017-18 award year.

May 18, 2018: Saddleback College Scholarship Ceremony

June 30, 2018: Last day for students to submit a FAFSA application for the 2017/2018 award year (Fall 2017, Spring 2018, Summer 2018)

July 2, 2018: Priority awarding date given to applicants who have filed the 2018-2019 FAFSA application by March 2 and have a complete financial aid file.

July 6, 2018: Last day for students to submit documentation for the 2017/2018 award year (Fall 2017, Spring 2018, Summer 2018).

August 23, 2018: Student Financial Assistance/Scholarship Office begins disbursing Fall 2018 financial aid funds to awarded students.

September 2, 2018: Additional community college awards for Cal Grant deadline for 2018 – 2019 academic year. If you are a Saddleback College student and have completed the required units at Saddleback College, Saddleback College will electronically transmit your GPA. If you have multiple transcripts that have to be compiled, the Admissions & Records Office will complete this for you. Please contact the Student Financial Assistance/Scholarship Office for more information regarding the GPA Verification Form.

November 2018: Saddleback College Scholarship Application to become available for the 2019-2020 award year.

October 1, 2018: Online FAFSA applications are available for the 2019 - 2020 award year

November 21, 2018: Last day for students attending Fall 2018 semester only to submit a Loan Request Form to the Student Financial Assistance/Scholarship Office.

GENERAL GUIDELINE FOR ALL TYPES OF AID:

Apply early, submit documentation completely filled out, as quickly as possible, and monitor your status via My Financial Aid and your email address

  • Remember you can complete your FAFSA Application online as early as October 1st each year for the subsequent award year.
  • If you have not done so already, register for ACH (Direct Deposit) or the Saddleback Cash Card as early as possible. If determined eligible for financial aid funding, this is the most secure and fasted way to receive your awards. Click here for more information

BOGFW (enrollment fee waiver): recommended that students apply for and receive approval prior to registering for classes.

The annual Saddleback College application for scholarships is generally available mid November and due in February. Attend a scholarship workshop for more information (scholarship workshops)

Check online regularly for news updates and announcements. Make sure you are checking your school provided email account and "My Financial Aid" regularly.
