RESEARCH OFFICE
The Research Office is the central point for research and planning for approximately 80 instructional programs and 20 support service units on the Saddleback College campus. The Research Office responds to requests from the President, Vice-President of Instruction, Vice-President of Student Services, Administrators, Deans, Faculty and Staff.
The Research Office supports data driven decision making through data collection, reporting, analysis and research studies. General functions of the office include federal and state reporting (i.e. IPEDS, CCCCO MIS, and ARCC), production of program review and SLO/AUO data sets, survey design, administration and collection of data and the longitudinal cohort studies. The office utilizes the research databases from District IT, College IT, and other state and federal databases.
Saddleback College's Institutional Effectiveness Annual Report (IEAR) provides useful information for the college community as it relates to student success and the management of the college. The IEAR presents information about the college's student and employee population, course offerings, enrollment patterns, and key student performance metrics.
The IEAR is organized into nine chapters: College Student Profile, Instructional Offerings, First- Time College Students, Student Progress, Developmental Education (Basic Skills), Workforce Development (CTE), Student Achievement, Transfers, and Employee Headcount.
Utilizing the queries built to produce the report, Saddleback College's Office of Planning, Research, and Grants can drill into more detail below the high level of aggregated data this report provides.
