I joined the Nursing Department at Saddleback College in August 2001. My teaching assignments include: Medical Surgical Nursing lecture and clinical, Community Health Nursing, and Peds clinical. I am also the Faculty Advisor for the Saddleback College chapter of CNSA (California Nursing Student Association).
In my role of Oncology Educator for Hoag Hospital in Newport Beach, I provide many of the Nursing Oncology classes including Chemotherapy and a New Grad Oncology program. In addition, I am a member of the OCONS (Orange County Oncology Nursing Society), SCCPI (Southern California Cancer Pain Initiative), and Theta Sigma Tau, Epsilon Mu chapter of the National Honor Society.
Prior to moving to California in 1998 my work experience included: teaching in a diploma school of nursing; managing a critical care unit; nursing supervision; emergency room and critical care staff nursing; as well as some time as a camp nurse.
Nursing is an exciting career! There are so many facets of nursing which can be explored. At Saddleback I have the opportunity to work with creative and dedicated faculty. In the hospital setting the students enjoy being mentored by wonderful staff nurses as they provide safe care to the patients in our community. What a privilege!
Welcome to the world of Nursing—a life long journey of learning and touching peoples’ lives! I am blessed because I love what I do!
