Research, Planning and Grants play a central role in the decision-making needs of the college in order to promote institutional effectiveness and to sustain vitality in a rapidly changing environment.

The goals of the Office of Planning, Research and Grants include providing support through data-based information that is useful for planning and decision making and support in the development of funding opportunities.

Strategic Planning Process Overview
Under direction from the Saddleback College President, the Planning & Budget Council has commenced a college-wide effort to improve and refine the college’s strategic planning process.  To ensure that all campus populations are kept informed, this web page will be updated regularly to make the restructuring of the strategic planning process an inclusive effort, as mandated by the college president.

Planning & Budget Council Retreat
To refine the strategic planning process at Saddleback College, a full-day Planning & Budget Council retreat was held on December 12, 2008, with objectives including the following:

  • Align people, processes, and resources within an organizational context
  • Review the strengths and weaknesses of the current strategic planning process
  • Refine the strategic planning process and structure
  • Align the planning process with the college and district timelines
  • Identify next steps to ensure the success of the new process
