The Saddleback College Veterans Memorial will be placed in a central location of the Saddleback College campus, enabling thousands of students, faculty and staff to see it and remember the College’s veterans each day.  The memorial will feature a life-size silhouette of a member of the armed services, surrounded with fountains and lights to illuminate the sculpture during the evening.

Saddleback College Art students will be participating in the construction of the Veterans Memorial by assisting in the “fire in place” technique.  Using clay, this technique is an unconventional method of firing large hollow sculptures too large to fit in conventional kilns.  (include photos from Flay Day firing)

This lasting tribute to the veterans affiliated with Saddleback College will memorialize their service, their bravery, and their dedication to protecting our freedom.
