I want to be
an elementary school teacher/ K-6 grade
In order to become an elementary school teacher you will need to earn a multiple subjects credential. This path begins
with transferring to a university to complete
a Bachelor’s Degree, the passing of a basic skills test called the CBEST, and an additional test entitled the CSET. Each credentialing program has different requirements, yet it is common for them to request for you to have over a 2.75 GPA in your last 60 units, at least two fieldwork experiences with the age-group that you plan to teach, and letters of recommendation. Also, one should always consider increasing one’s marketability through opening up options to teach several subjects. Cal State Fullerton’s Center for Careers in Teaching has offered some advice for students seeking to do so here. Open teaching positions can be found at EdJoin
