Student Tutor Program

Students must successfully complete the application and interview process. All tutors must be verified, as being qualified to tutor a specific subject by a Saddleback faculty member. Ideally, students will have completed the courses that they wish to tutor at Saddleback College, receiving an "A" or a "B".

Each semester tutor training is offered through enrollment in TU 100. Tutors are required to enroll in this 2 unit Lab course which provides helpful information and teaches the skills necessary to be an effective tutor. Finally, all TU 100 Students and trained tutors commit to a minimum of four hours of tutoring in the LAP each week.

Those who volunteer 100 hours or more are awarded a certificate at the end of the semester and have their name added to a plaque in the LAP and become a member of the 100 or 200 club.
