A Breakthrough
Being a tutor is one of the most unforgettable and challenging experiences in my life. All
the satisfaction and excitement that I get from tutoring intersperse my ponderous school life.
Every Monday, Wednesday and Friday, I cannot wait for the arrival of 10:30am because that is the
time I change my status from a student to a tutor. Once I open the door of the LAP, all the
warmth and happiness overflow from the entrance towards me. I am engulfed by this lovely
and welcoming atmosphere. Inside the LAP, no mater students or tutors, they all have a
smiling face. They are also very friendly, too. Students are more comfortable to ask questions
and so studies can be much more efficient under this relaxing atmosphere.
I used to be very shy, passive and lack of confidence. However, tutoring brings me a dramatic
change. At the beginning of my tutoring, usually I waited for the students to ask me questions
because I was so afraid to talk to strangers. Later, I realized that some of the students are
even shyer than me, so I tried to ask them whether they needed help. Now, of course, I am
not scared to talk to people anymore. Every time after I helped the students to solve problems,
I have a sense of pride that I have never experienced before. When I know that they have good
grades, or they improve after I tutor them, that is the most rewarding moment that I have ever had.
There is nothing better than having the abitlity to help others.
I really enjoy tutoring, and I make a lot of friends in the LAP. LAP is an international family.
Students and tutors are from different places all over the world. Every individual is accepted
and get along amicabley. There is no discrimination and evil design. It is worthy of the
name-utopia. I really treasure my tutoring experince in the LAP.
