Board of Directors

The Board of Directors (BOD) is the governing body of the Associated Student Government. The Board of Directors meets weekly to discuss ASG as a whole. The BOD brainstorms ideas for potential upcoming events as well as planning leadership retreats and workshops. The weekly meetings create an opportunity for the chairs of all the committees and councils to communicate and work together in the most effective and cohesive manner possible. As the governing body of the ASG, the BOD holds the right to make Constitutional and Bylaw changes. The BOD represents the student body and offers guidance to the campus on all student matters.

Meeting Time: Fridays 10:00AM - 11:30AM

Director of Learning
Resources & Tutoring

My name is Maryam Sabahi. I am the Director of Learning Resources and Tutoring. My task is to perfect the tutoring services provided at Saddleback College and help make online education more convenient and suitable for our fellow Students. It will be my challenge this year to provide an easily accessible and welcoming environment for both the tutors and tutees. In addition, with the guidance of the instructors and the students, my goal is to make online education a more successful experience for everyone. Please come to me with any issues and/or ideas related to my position, and I will be very happy to work with you to alleviate your concerns.
I am currently a Biology major hoping to pursue a medical career in the future. I am passionate about Biology and Chemistry and using my knowledge of those fields to figure out the world we live in. I daydream that one day I will be able to cure HIV, Cancer, and Autoimmune diseases in a painless, non-invasive manner.I enjoy being superstitious at times, hearing about cultural myths and stories…which most likely rises from my Turkish and Persian background! I like going on adventures, taking small risks, and challenging myself to do things that in my typically conservative world, would not seem so logical to do. As a very dear friend of mine said, “It is better to look back at your life and say at least I did it, than to look back and wish you had…”

Lily Rahmani
Director of Human
Resources & Volunteering

My name is Neloufar Lily Rahmani. Everyone knows me by my middle name Lily, however. I am a 100% persian. I was born in Walnut Creek, CA, which is in the bay area. This year will be my third year at saddleback and I have enjoyed every minute of being here. My major is Business Administration, and I plan on going to law school right after. My dream job would be to become an attorney one day and to really help people. I also want to be a business owner, and do charitable law and help the people in need at no cost. Besides helping others, I love to play volleyball, spend time with my family and shop. But what girl doesn't love to shop?! At my job, I actually get paid to shop for people which isn't bad at all. Besides work, I am always focused on school. I love to be at Saddleback because I get to have a direct connection with all my teachers. I am fortunate enough to also be in ASG and to be able to voice the student opinion and to help make somewhat of a change. My goal at Saddleback is to get every person aware of ASG and what we do for the campus. I also want to get as many students to volunteer and to help our campus grow. I know that the year to follow will be an amazing one and I am your go to person if you want to get involved!

Michael Nepomuceno
Director of Academic

Hey guys, my name is Michael Nepomuceno and I am your Director of Academic Affairs for the 2013-2014 school year here at Saddleback College. This will be my third year here at Saddleback and I am double majoring in History and Political Science with hopes of going into teaching, government, or law. Whenever I get a spare moment, I often find myself reading, playing video games, running, or researching about history. I joined ASG this year with the hopes of bringing more community to our community college and with plans of creating new opportunities to succeed. I hope ASG can really make a difference in your education this year and help provide a stepping stone so that you may reach higher places. Thank you, good luck this year, and hope to see you around!

William Vassetizadeh
Director of Student Support

Hi, my name is William Vassetizadeh and I am the Director of Student Support Services. I come from a Persian background but was born and raised in France. I lived there for eight years until 2003. In 2003 I moved to Northern California, and a year later down to Orange County. This is my first year at Saddleback. I am majoring in Bioengineering with the hopes of someday attending medical school to become a trauma surgeon.
I joined ASG to improve the community around me, as well as make new friends. My goal this year is to help any students that may need help or assistance and to make financial aid, EOPS, DPSPS, the health center and the cafeteria more accessible and improved. I also hope to make Saddleback a place where everyone feels supported and unified. I would love to hear from you if you have any comments, suggestions or questions about my position. Feel free to send me an email or come see me in person, in the ASG room.
