Cheryl Altman joined Saddleback College in August of 1989. As a faculty member her responsibilities have included teaching Reading and English as a Second Language; Chair of the Reading Department; Co-Coordinator of the Reading Lab; Coordinator of Title III Grant, Activity I; Academic Senator; former member of the State Academic Senate's Committee on Basic Skills. Currently, along with her teaching responsibilities, she is a Facilitator for SLOs (Student Learning Outcomes) as part of the Committee for Institutional Effectiveness.
Prior to teaching full-time at Saddleback College, Professor Altman was an Associate Professor at Saddleback College, Santa Ana College and Harper Rainey College in Illinois.
In her spare time she enjoys traveling, gardening, hiking, watching old movies, and reading, reading, reading.
