MainStage Kids

MainStage Kids, offered by Saddleback College Performing Arts and Community Education, is a youth theatre company designed to prepare young actors (ages 9-15) who aspire to perform professionally one day. Whether you are an experienced young performer who wants more musical theatre training or are new to the stage, this exciting theatre program will challenge and inspire you.

Directed and taught by theatre professionals, this innovative program offers students professional standards and insights that are put into practice in a fully mounted main-stage production at the end of the program.

Roald Dahl's Willy Wonka JR

The delicious adventures experienced by Charlie Bucket on his visit to Willy Wonka’s mysterious chocolate factory light up the stage in this captivating adaptation of Roald Dahl’s fantastical tale. Hear enchanting songs from the 1971 film starring Gene Wilder in addition to a host of fun new songs, Roald Dahl’s Willy Wonka JR. is a scrumdidilyumptious musical guaranteed to delight everyone’s sweet tooth. Roald Dahl’s Willy Wonka JR. follows enigmatic candy manufacturer Willy Wonka as he stages a contest by hiding golden tickets in five of his scrumptious candy bars. Whoever comes up with the tickets will win a free tour of the Wonka factory – and a lifetime supply of candy – if you follow Mr. Wonka’s rules! There will be an opportunity to be part of the crew if a student is not interested in being on stage.
