I am a full-time English professor and teach all levels of composition, including ENG 1B, ENG 1A, and literature, both in-person and online.
I have the best job in the world: I get to share my passion for reading, writing, and critical thinking with an ever-changing group of interesting and inspirational students. I left a career in law to teach English at the community college because I want to help people realize their potential, particularly their academic potential. I strongly believe all my students have the ability to achieve at the highest levels, so my goal is to provide students with the skills and confidence they need to be successful. I combine challenging (and interesting!) course material with hands-on support and center each of my courses on a theme. I develop this theme through readings, collaborative group work, informal and formal writing, ongoing feedback, and opportunities for reflection.

I grew up in a small town in Wyoming and love spending time in the outdoors. I bike, swim, ski, hike, and ride waves as often as I possibly can, usually with my two young kids. My family loves to travel and learn languages, and recent trips have included Costa Rica, Sicily, Rome, London, Bavaria, Salzburg, and Spain.
