An ePortfolio (electronic portfolio) is an electronic collection of writing samples, photos, research undertakings, creative projects, and/or mentor feedback that document a student’s academic journey.
Why ePortfolios?
Department & College Perspective
- Allows a program to track each student’s achievements as they progress through a degree or certificate
- Enables the college to track each student’s attainment of ISLOs
- Serves as a pseudo capstone for our General Education program
- Helps students achieve the particular ISLO of computer and digital literacy
Student Perspective
- A student-centered process
- Aids students’ self-assessment of their learning/academic experiences
- Promotes reflection as part of the learning process
- Allow students to have an understanding of what they have gained as a result of having completed a degree or certificate
- Provides a type of expanded resume for students
