Ceramics

Saddleback Ceramics Area
Our program’s mission is to be “the launching pad for a successful career,” not just in ceramics or even art but in every aspect of the workforce. Everything that our students learn in our classes has broader applications in the workforce in terms of soft skills such as time management, risk management, patience and perseverance, team work, creative problem solving and the ability to clearly articulate and convey your thoughts and concepts. The sole purpose of this program is to prepare and help our students to move on to bigger and better things. As faculty we are not only responsible for teaching our students about the ceramic medium but how these core skills that we need to work with clay also apply to a much broader context. We are also responsible for keeping up to date on opportunities and new technologies in our field so that we can give our students meaningful guidance.
