Saddleback Design & Survey Area
Saddleback Design and Survey courses prepare students with a foundation in the elements and principles of composition within a range of 2D and 3D media. These fundamental courses prepare students with the soft skills needed to succeed in every aspect of the creative workforce. These courses teach the creative process through project based experiences that have historical and contemporary relevance. Studio courses combine creative process, critical analysis and technical development to deepen students understanding of their creative practice. Students learn both risk and time management while developing tenacity and resilience towards inevitable set backs involved in creative discovery. Students learn to access their creative and technical abilities within deadlines and articulate their process and reflect on their results within peer critique. We prepare students to transfer into creative majors and to develop a personal visual arts practice.
