He also teaches Economics (International Economics and Microeconomics) at Cal State Fullerton and Microeconomics at Irvine Valley College.

He has roughly 20 years of work experience in economic research, forecasting, economic consulting, and financial services, including positions in Washington D.C. and on Wall Street. He previously worked as a Senior Economist at the Port of Long Beach where he focused on forecasting, economic impacts and strategic planning. He later worked as a Consultant to the LAEDC. During his roughly six years working with the LAEDC he specialized in understanding how Southern California is connected to the global economy with a heavy focus on international trade and foreign direct investment (FDI). In addition, he closely monitored the Los Angeles Regional economy and it's main industries/sectors. Finally, he worked very closely with the foreign consulates and trade offices.

He has briefed the Mayor's Office of Los Angeles including former Mayor Villaraigosa and current Mayor Garcetti on LA's relations with China, Japan and South Korea.

He has been quoted in the Wall Street Journal, Financial Times, Associated Press, Los Angeles Times, Long Beach Press Telegram, Press Enterprise, Ventura County Star, & other local publications and has appeared on ABC TV Channel 7, NBC TV Channel 4, PBS, NPR, KNX 1070AM, Hong Kong Phoenix TV, Sinovision, Voice of America, and NHK-Japan.
