Professional Development Flexible Calendar Program

Spring 2021 Professional Development Week | January 12-15

Sign up by November 1 to be a presenter: Link to Call for Presenters

Presentations can only be live teleconferenced (Zoom) or recorded sessions.​ Presentations are organized around themes (plus “Other”). These presentations will be scheduled to avoid having similar themes at the same time.  

Scheduling priority will be given to presentations within the themes:

  •  Sustainability
  •  Equity
  •  Online Education
  •  High Engagement Teaching Practices
  •  Faculty Leadership Development

Tuesday, January 12 - Scheduled are Faculty Association, District Presentations, Presidents’ Welcome, Division Meetings, and Department meetings

Wednesday - Friday, January 13-15 - Live Presentations will be scheduled between 9:00 am and 3:30 pm, using block scheduling

Professional Development (Flex) Hours Reported: 2019-2020

As of 4/15/2020.  Please contact the Academic Senate Office at 4969 if you would like to update your Faculty Identifying Code, or have any questions regarding your hours.

Goal: 38 Hours of Professional Development per Academic Year in any combination of 7 ways: -  Flex Week Activities - Campus-Wide Events (other than Flex Week activities) - Division and Department Meetings  - Working with our amazing Instructional Technologist Team at the Faculty Center for Student Success  - Watching a Video or Online Presentation - Submitting for other workshop / conference via Indy Form to your department Flex Rep - Be a Flex Week Presenter

Professional Development Week Forms for Faculty and Division Admins.

Presenters of  a speech, workshop, demonstration, lecture, meeting, seminar, etc. during fall or spring Professional Development Week receive 3 flex credits for each hour of the presentation. No additional credit for preparation time is allowed. 

Requests for a list of Professional Development Week Division/Department Meetings have been sent to division deans and admins.
