All Saddleback College students are welcome in Honors classes!
What are they like? How are they different? What do they ask for?
Check out our Honors Classes page for information, FAQs and even some myth-busting.

The Saddleback College Honors Program is an interdisciplinary effort to develop exceptional talent, ability, and scholarship in highly motivated students of all backgrounds in all majors.

Saddleback College and the Honors Program welcome all students. We proudly serve students of all religions, ethnicities, sexual orientations, nationalities, gender identities, disability statuses, and economic backgrounds.

Honors students include

  • Certificate-Track Students,
who must submit an application to the Honors Program in order to earn the Honors Certificate and be eligible for priority registration, Honors Counseling, and participation in Honors transfer partnerships, and
  • Walk-In Students,
who want to take only one or two Honors courses, for which no application is required.

If you are interested in Certificate-Track status, you should apply as soon as possible. Applications are accepted throughout the year. Successful Honors transfer may be postponed or even impossible after a delay. If you are a Walk-In Student wanting to change to Certificate-Track status, you must file an application before two Honors classes are completed, whether or not you believe you are eligible based on GPA or other factors. Success in Honors classes and recommendations from Honors faculty are considered favorably in our holistic application review process.
