Who may participate?
All Irvine Valley College and Saddleback College students in good standing (enrolled in at least 3 units, with a cumulative GPA of at least 2.0) may apply to participate as a presenter or moderator. All Irvine Valley College and Saddleback College students and their friends and family may attend.
Do I have to be an Honors Program student to participate?
No. You need only to be currently enrolled at either Irvine Valley College or Saddleback College (or both!) and in good standing as a student.
How much does it cost to attend, moderate, or present at the symposium?
$0. Information about our generous sponsors will be available at the symposium! Lunch is available by advance reservation here for $8.
What presentation formats are allowed?
Oral presentations: Individual or group
Must I have a faculty mentor approve my application to present or moderate?
To present: YES. To moderate: NO.
I'm from IVC. What and where is Saddleback?
"Saddleback" is Saddleback College, sister college to IVC. Although they are two separate schools with different curricula (and separate honors programs), about 3,000 students take classes at both.
Saddleback College's address is 28000 Marguerite Parkway in Mission Viejo, but visitors coming by freeway (5 or 405) should look for the "Crown Valley" exit off the 5, turn left onto Crown Valley, turn right onto Medical Center Drive, and enter Saddleback College from that road. You might also look at the Google page for directions.
Where at Saddleback College will the symposium be held?
The answer right now is the LRC/LIB building. There will be signs. We'll have more detail later.
Do I have to pay for parking?
Not if you have either a Saddleback or an IVC permit. Both colleges' permits will be honored. Students are restricted to student lots. Guests may buy Day Permits.
I have a different question. How do I get it answered?
Email Prof. Rosenberg at firstname.lastname@example.org, because she should have thought of it.
More FAQs will be answered as they are discovered!
