Foster & Kinship Care Education

                                                                             Director, Martine Wehr, JD

The Foster & Kinship Care Education (FKCE) program provides free educational workshops, classes and support opportunities in English and Spanish for Orange County's Resource Parents (Foster, Adoptive, and Kinship [relative]caregivers of children and youth in out-of-home care).  All our classes meet the annual 8-hour training requirement for Resource Parents.

Class topics address the unique parenting challenges faced by Resource Parents and ensure caregivers have the training they need to meet the educational, emotional, behavioral and developmental needs of the children in their care. We aim to inform, inspire and support caregivers and to equip them to make a positive difference in the lives of the children in their homes and hearts.

Support is provided for those requiring disability accommodation by contacting the Saddleback College FKCE program office at at least 14 days prior to class.
