Accepted International Students

Please review the information below as it contains important information regarding requirements prior to attending Saddleback College.

Once you’ve obtained your visa, please complete the following:

  1. Please download and read the New Student Welcome Packet (summer 2016) or New Student Welcome Packet (fall 2016) and International Student F-1 Visa Handbook.


  2. Contact your local EducationUSA Advising Center about attending a Pre-Departure Orientation
    To find your local advising center, please visit: http://www.educationusa.info/. EducationUSA advising centers are located all over the world and are excellent resources for studying in the United States.


  3. Arrival
    You may enter the U.S. no more than 30 days before the program start date on your I-20 form.  Carefully review the instructions on your offer of admission to complete your Matriculation process (Online Orientation and Assessment Testing). You will be required to attend the all-day International Student Orientation as scheduled on your welcome packet.


  4. Health Insurance
    All international students, except those who are sponsored by their Embassy, are required to purchase the mandatory international student health insurance plan by Ascension for the entire academic year of your enrollment. Go to www.renstudent.com/saddleback to purchase Health Insurance.


  5. Enroll in the Counseling 1 course (designed for International Students), instructed by Professor A. Astley


  6. TB (Tuberculosis) Test
    Take a Tuberculosis skin test (TB) in the United States (available on campus in the Student Health Center).
