ITL Mission Statement
The Institute for Teaching and Learning (ITL) is an Academic Senate committee whose mission is to advocate for a strong and diverse professional development program for faculty at Saddleback College, to coordinate faculty training opportunities that promote excellence in teaching, and to ensure the highest level of student learning both inside and outside of the classroom. The ITL provides a framework for the consolidation of information about faculty professional development on campus through the maintenance of a SharePoint site, distribution of a newsletter, coordination of a faculty mentorship program, and the creation of several key professional development activities related to student equity, high engagement teaching, and other pedagogical practices.
