English Placement

Students that complete Guided Self Placement or have their high school transcript evaluated for initial math and English placement will receive two possible placements. Students who have completed 3 years of high school English with a cumulative unweighted GPA of 2.6 or higher will be placed into English 1A. Students with a GPA less than 2.6 will be offered an English 1A with an included English 201 support class. All students that receive college level initial math and English placement have the option to take the stand alone English 1A class or the English 1A with the 201 support class. Please see the documents below for more information regarding the different course sequence options.
