Students can provide accepted evidence to clear a math prerequisite. There are multiple options to place into the different levels of math courses (clearing prerequisites) which are listed below the math course sequence chart.
Baseline Level:
Baseline placement is the lowest level placement available to most students completing the Matriculation Process. Students that have prior Saddleback College assessment exam scores which resulted in a placement lower than our current baseline placement can submit a placement review which will bring your placement up to this level.
Placement courses include: Math 353, Math 253, Math 103, Math 14, Math 10+210S, Math 10, Math 7+207S, Math 8+208S and Math 124+224S. Other course clearances include: Psyc 44, Econ 2 and Econ 4.
Options to obtain this placement or clearance:
- Most students required to matriculate will receive a minimum of baseline placement by completing step 2 of the Matriculation Process.
- Students that are NOT required to complete the Matriculation Process can submit a high school transcript using the online prerequisite evaluation request form.
Placement Level 2
Placement courses include: Math 7, Math 8, Math 124 and all placements included in the baseline level. Other course clearances include: Chem 3.
Options to obtain this placement or clearance:
- Students required to matriculate may receive this placement by completing step 2 of the Matriculation Process and also meet the minimum high school requirements listed below.
- Students that are NOT required to complete the Matriculation Process can submit a high school or college transcript using the online prerequisite evaluation request form.
Minimum requirements to receive this clearance:
- Two semesters of high school Algebra 2/Integ Math 3 successfully completed with a C or better (No C- grades) with an unweighted cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher.
