Solar Images

Saddleback College Observatory operates a Coronado 70mm solar telescope which provides a wide field of view of the entire solar disk and enough resolution to allowing cropping of images to reveal further details. This scope is calibrated to isolate the hydrogen-alpha wavelength with a less than 0.7Å bandpass at ~656.8 nm wavelength to reveal granulation and prominences. 

Note: All images of the 08/21/2017 Total Solar Eclipse were taken at Oregon State University, Corvallis, using a Nikon D750 and a Nikkor 135mm F2 lens.
