Matt Yurko joined Saddleback College in August 2012.  His primary
responsibilities include classroom and field instruction as well as coordinating students pursuing the certificate in Ecological Restoration.  He teaches the following courses at Saddleback College: Ecological Restoration Techniques (ECOL 201), Advanced Ecological Restoration Techniques (ECOL 202), Introduction to Environmental Studies (ENV 1), Introduction to Ecology (Laboratory)(ENV 18), and the soil component of Water and Soil Conservation (ENV 123).

In addition to his work at Saddleback College, Matt directs the California Coastal Commission's Community-Based Restoration and Education Program.  As part of his work, he guides the volunteer restoration program at the Upper Newport Bay (in Newport Beach, CA) and promotes community-based restoration by facilitating workshops for professionals and volunteers in Orange County and beyond.  Please read more about this program at
