Matt Yurko joined Saddleback College in August 2012. His primary
responsibilities include classroom and field instruction as well as coordinating students pursuing the certificate in Ecological Restoration. He teaches the following courses at Saddleback College: Ecological Restoration Techniques (ECOL 201), Advanced Ecological Restoration Techniques (ECOL 202), Introduction to Environmental Studies (ENV 1), Introduction to Ecology (ENV 18), and Environmental Ethics (ENV 37). Matt also coordinates students pursuing internships through Cooperative Work Experience (CWE 180) in Environmental Studies and Ecological Restoration.
In addition to his work at Saddleback College, Matt directs the California Coastal Commission's Project Grow. As part of his work, he guides the volunteer ecological restoration program at the Upper Newport Bay (in Newport Beach, CA) and promotes community-based restoration by facilitating workshops for professionals and volunteers in Orange County and beyond.
