Update on Spring Semester Classes

For Immediate Release:
January 3, 2022

The following email was sent to all students on Monday, January 3, 2022:

Dear Saddleback Student,

We hope you’ve enjoyed the holiday break and look forward to welcoming you this spring semester.  Classes begin on January 18.

Please take note of recent changes to our schedule due to the high transmission of the Omicron and Delta variants of COVID in Orange County.  Safety is our priority, and it is critical that we take measures to reduce the risk of exposure to our students, faculty, and staff.

In-person and Hybrid Classes
For students who have enrolled in in-person or hybrid classes, our district has determined that most of these classes will be held online until February 7.  Some lab and activity classes will be held in-person.   Please check Canvas for an update from your instructor.  Click here if you need help logging on to Canvas.

Vaccines are still required for students taking in-person or hybrid classes.  Additional information will be emailed to those who are enrolled in these classes.  We will send a separate email to students with approved religious or medical exemptions with information on testing requirements.

Online Classes
Online classes will not be impacted and will start as scheduled.

Student Services and Supports
Campus services and supports will be offered both in person and online.  Please check www.saddleback.edu or call the campus when we reopen on Tuesday, January 4.

Safety Guidelines
Masks continue to be required in indoor spaces on campus.

While these changes are not what we were hoping for as we start the spring semester, we thank you for your continued understanding and cooperation in ensuring the health and safety of everyone at Saddleback College.

We wish you a happy, healthy, and successful new year.
