Taking an online course presents many exciting opportunities, such as learning from the comforts of your home. However, it may also present unique technical challenges. It is the student's responsibility to be technologically capable to take an online course, (i.e. you should be computer literate and Internet experienced). Check to see if you are ready for online learning.
Online courses at Saddleback College use the learning management system, Canvas. For best performance, Canvas should be used on the following browsers (current or first major releases):
Canvas runs on Windows, Mac, Linux, iOS, Android, or any other device with a modern web browser.
Canvas only requires an operating system that can run the latest compatible web browsers. Your computer operating system should be kept up to date with the latest recommended security updates and upgrades.
Since your course will be accessed through your computer and Internet connection, it is important that you have the proper computer configuration. Outlined below are the basic technical requirements (minimum and recommended) for participation in an online course.
