The following Strategic Plan Objectives will be this year’s priority efforts:

Increase professional development opportunities for all employees that are focused on student success outcomes and based on a review of student needs, capture rates, and achievement gaps.

Establish and implement a plan that promotes student completion of their basic skill courses as outlined in their educational plan.

Develop and implement a comprehensive follow-up and retention plan for those students who have been identified as “at risk” and/or are on academic probation.

Help to nurture a college wide adoption of Progress Report!

Create Programs of Study for undeclared majors.

Develop a plan to embed student support services into instruction.

Embedded Tutoring
  • Students who spend 6 or more hours in the LRC tutoring have 10% higher success rates than their peers!

Institute for Teaching & Learning
  • Participate in paid professional development offered throughout the semester aimed at increasing student success in your classroom. Faculty from all disciplines are welcome. Space is limited.

College Pride Tuesday
  • Pick up your free “We Believe in You” college shirt and wear it on Tuesdays--or any other day, for that matter!
  • On Tuesdays, show college pride and wear our Saddleback College colors: cardinal and gold.

  • Help your students create an electronic portfolio that highlights your class’s capstone assignments and SLOs. Soon, all Saddleback College students will leave our college with a portfolio featuring their work, which can be used for transfer and employment.
