Description

This program is an introduction for experienced and new graduate registered nurses to emergency nursing emphasizing the adaptive behaviors for critical thinking and skilled response to emergency department patient care. This program provides the theoretical foundation for emergency nurses to learn critical knowledge and skills to effectively communicate, prioritize, problem solve and implement decisive care successfully in the emergency care setting. The program is intended for new graduate RNs and RNs transferring from other areas of nursing to emergency care. The program uses the Emergency Nurses Association, Emergency Nursing Core Curriculum text book as a guide to focus on physical, psychosocial and clinical practice issues presented by patients in the emergency setting. At the completion of the program the participant will receive a certificate of completion to seek gainful employment in an emergency setting.
