Certificate of Achievement
Description
Introductory developmental and learning theory as well as appropriate strategies for the care and education of young children will be studied and applied. This certificate is designed to meet the coursework requirements for the Associate Teacher level of the Child Development Permit issued by the California Commission on Teacher Credentialing (CTC) and prepares students for entry level positions in a variety of early childhood care and education settings. Additional work with children (50 days of 3+ hours per day) is required to obtain the Associate Teacher Permit. A minimum grade of "C" in each course is required to receive the certificate and/or qualify for the Child Development Permit.
