Roman is a native Californian from the central area of the state, where he was a community college student himself at Fresno City College after graduating from high school. His education continued when he transferred to UC Santa Cruz, receiving his BA History in 1998. Mr. Delgado also completed an education abroad program at UNAM in Mexico City during his years as a UCSC student. From 1998-2002 he was an enlisted soldier in the Army, serving in the medical corps. Roman returned to academics in 2004, attending Teachers College Columbia University and earning a Masters Degree in Education (TESOL). His first occasion to teach ESL took place in Japan, where he eventually amassed nearly a decade of experience working at different universities and colleges in the greater Tokyo area. Overseas, Mr. Delgado has worked in Qatar as well, spending two years in Doha at a Community College for local Qataris. Roman's domestic experience before coming to Saddleback includes teaching courses at UCI Extension and Orange Coast College. Roman feels very fortunate to now be teaching in Mission Viejo and he looks forward to serving the students of Saddleback College.
