Rich Goodman has been a professor in Human Services at S. C. C. for 38 years, 20 being full- time. He teaches courses in Alcohol and Drug Studies, namely HS 170- Alcohol and Other Drugs in Society. He was department chair for 7 years until retiring his full time position in 2010. That year he was honored as Teacher of the Year, an award he cherishes. His continued love of teaching is now as an adjunct faculty again. His Criminal Justice background resulted from working for the Los Angeles Co. Probation Dept. for 25 years. He worked primarily with substance abusers doing narcotic testing and was the Department Narcotics Trainer for 5 years. He also ran a mandated drug education program for minors sentenced to Juvenile Camp. Rich has been married to his high school sweetheart for the past 52 years. He is a father of 2 wonderful children,Scott and Kristin and loves to spoil his 4 grandchildren, Jake and Josh and Sara and Siena,his twin girl granddaughters! Sports and travel are his joys aside from family and education.
