A psychological crisis is a life event that one perceives as stressful and during which normal coping mechanisms are insufficient. Sexual Assault is the use of sexual actions and words that are unwanted by and/or harmful to another person. Drug and alcohol addiction is when the body must have a substance to avoid physical
and psychological withdrawal symptoms. 
Seek help if you or someone you know is experiencing:  Seek help if any of these apply: Seek help if you or someone you know:
  • Extreme sadness or depression
  • Feelings of panic or anxiety
  • Thoughts of self-harm or suicide
  • Thoughts of harming someone else
  • Death of a loved one 
  • Experienced a traumatic event
  • Has odd, bizarre or intrusive thoughts
  • Is below the legal age of consent
  • Fears the consequences of not consenting (including use of force)
  • Feels threatened or intimidated
  • Is coerced to have sex
  • Says no, either verbally or physically (e.g., crying, kicking or pushing away)
  • Has disabilities that prevent the person from making an informed choice
  • Is incapacitated by alcohol or drugs
  • Lacks full knowledge or information of what is happening
  • Is not an active participant in the activity
  • Is not able to stop without craving more.
  • Has missed work or school because of drug or alcohol use.
  • Has taken medications for reasons other than what is was prescribed for.
  • Uses substances to cope or escape from daily life.
  • Has lied to your spouse or family members about drug or alcohol use.

Currently enrolled Students who have paid their health fee may call or come into 
The Student Health Center during the hours of 8 AM to 5 PM - M-Th and F 8AM to 3 PM 
(Closed holidays & weekends) to make an appointment.
Urgent and emergent cases will be seen without an appointment.

                         Please let the Student Health Center know if you are in crisis
                           or in need of immediate medical or mental health help.
