Tyler Dean has been teachingLiterature and Composition for the past ten years. He received his doctorate in English from the University of California, Irvine in 2014, and his BA from Pitzer College in 2005. His area of especial focus is Victorian literature, with an emphasis on Gothic, supernatural, and horror literature from that era.
His dissertation, entitled, Distended Youth: Arrested Development in the Victorian Novel has been published via the University of California Irvine and can be read via their library.
He is an alumnus of the Dickens Universe and a member of the Modern Language Association, North Atlantic Victorian Studies Association and the Victorians Institute.
In his spare time, he throws elaborate costume parties and writes about the Gothic in Visual Media.
