First-Generation Student Celebration

Saddleback College will be hosting a First-Generation Student Celebration on Wednesday, November 18, from 10:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the Quad. Students and employees who identify as first-gen students are invited to the Quad to write affirmations for other first-gen students, pose for selfies with first-gen-themed props, and record a short video about their first-gen journey. First-gen student shirts will be available for student and staff participants. Supplies are limited.

National First-Generation College Celebration Day is held annually on November 8. The event exists to recognize the first-gen experience and honor the anniversary of the signing of the Higher Education Act of 1965.
