Saddleback College primary logo featuring a cardinal red geometric mountain icon above the text "Saddleback College."

If you joined us at commencement, you might have already noticed something new. Saddleback College has officially kicked off the first phase of our logo and brand refresh.

Managed by the college’s Marketing and Communications team, this update is all about creating a clean, modern, and unified look that reflects our entire campus community.

You might be wondering what sparked the change. After listening to feedback from stakeholder meetings across campus, it became clear that our retired boxed logo had a few limitations. It was tough to read at smaller sizes (like on your phone screen), and the old mountain icon couldn't be used on its own for designs.

Most importantly for students, the old design lacked the visual energy and flexibility needed for awesome campus apparel and gear.

Our refreshed logo fixes all of that. By removing the old structural constraints, we now have a sleek, contemporary design that is incredibly versatile. Whether you're looking at a digital screen, campus wayfinding, or your next favorite Saddleback hoodie, the new look is built to shine.

While the logo itself is getting a modern upgrade, our deeper traditions aren't going anywhere. Saddleback is proudly keeping our classic official colors: Cardinal and Gold. This unified color palette will continue to bridge both our academic programs and our athletic teams, keeping our school pride and campus spirit as strong as ever.

As we move through this initial rollout phase, here is what you can expect to see around campus:

  • The Name Stays Simple: We are proudly Saddleback College (or just Saddleback for short). You'll see a consistent focus on this name across campus, while the phrase "Saddleback Community College" is officially retired.
  • A Phased Transition: Because this is a major campus-wide update, it's happening in stages. This means you will still see the old logo on some older signs, documents, and physical spaces around campus for a little while until they are systematically updated over time.

Keep an eye out for the fresh look as it rolls out onto more gear, screens, and spaces—and get ready to rep the new era of Saddleback pride.
