Women's History Month is celebrated annually during the month of March to highlight and celebrate the contributions of women to events in history, culture, and contemporary society. The original celebration of Women's History Month originated in Sonoma, California in 1978. International Women's Day is also held in March and is celebrated across the world. International Women's Day is observed on Sunday, March 8, 2026. The campus community is invited to join us for one or more Women's History Month events.

Women's History Month Movie Day
Monday, March 9, from 3 to 4:30 p.m. in The Den (CC 104)

Join fellow Bobcats in The Den (CC 104) for a screening of Legally Blonde on Monday, March 9 at 3 p.m. Grab some popcorn, find a comfy spot, and enjoy Reese Witherspoon as Elle Woods.

Women's History Month Panel
Thursday, March 12, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. in BGS 254

Join Associated Student Government's International Students & Diversity Council in collaboration with the Equity Office for a Women's History Month Panel featuring women in the workforce. The conversation will spotlight professionals from diverse backgrounds and career paths who are making an impact in their communities and are passionate about their work.

This event is designed to resonate with Saddleback College students as well as female-identifying faculty, staff, and administrators who often navigate similar barriers, even when those challenges go unspoken. Refreshments from Paradise Bakery will be provided. 

Women, Alzheimer's & Building Brain Healthy Habits
Thursday, March 12 from 12 to 1 p.m. 

The Gender & Sexuality and Sociology departments in conjunction with the Alzheimer's Association of Orange County are hosting an event titled, Women, Alzheimer's & Building Brain Health Habits on Thursday, March 12 from 12 to 1:15 p.m. in BGS 339. All are welcome.

Books & Breakfast
Tuesday, March 24, from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.

The Women's History Month Educational Library will be available in The Den featuring an array of books celebrating female authors and stories. Grab a free book and enjoy a light breakfast refreshment.
