Saddleback College has been recognized as one of the best colleges in the nation to work for, according to the latest results from the Great Colleges to Work For® program.
The findings, released today in The Chronicle of Higher Education and online at GreatCollegesList.com, are based on a nationwide survey of 171 higher education institutions. Out of those surveyed, only 76 achieved “Great College to Work For” status, including 54 four-year institutions and 22 two-year colleges.
Saddleback College earned special recognition for excelling in the following workplace categories:
Job Satisfaction and Support
Compensation and Benefits
Shared Governance
“This honor reflects the dedication of our classified professionals, faculty, and management team to create an environment that values our employees as much as our students, “ said Dr. Lonita Cordova, President of Saddleback College. “We look forward to expanding on this momentum to enhance employee satisfaction by ensuring a true culture of care across our entire campus.”
Frank Gonzalez, Academic Senate President, shared, “The strength of Saddleback’s participatory governance relies on collaboration with colleagues across campus and sound decision-making for the benefit of our students and college. I look forward to continuing this vital work.”
Vee Zahrae, Classified Senate President, said, “These results are a reminder of the positive direction we have taken at Saddleback College to recognize the work of all groups in our college community, and the work done by Caring Campus to instill a genuine sense of belonging for all.”
The survey results are based on a two-part assessment process: an institution questionnaire that captures employment data and workplace policies from each institution, and a survey administered to college employees. The primary factor in deciding whether an institution received recognition was employee feedback.
The Great Colleges to Work For® program is one of the largest and most respected workplace-recognition programs in the country and recognized the colleges that get top ratings from their employees on workplace practices and policies.
